NEW BLOG!!!

I have set up a new blog for my business. The blog is lamourphotographyweddingblog.blogspot.com I will be posting business related things and posting pictures that are done for my business and things that are being used to promote my business.

On school news I had my career business conference today and it went very well. They all thought my career business plan was well done and my pictures looked really good. They said that they think I have the skills that I need to go out and start a business and the personality to accomplish it.  This has given me the confidence I need to go out and start working as hard as I can to make it! I am very excited to start!

Phase 3 Mandatories are complete!

So like the title says my phase 3 mandatories are finally complete. It was a hard month and half and I thought the task was impossible but it is done! I am so happy that they are done and to have that off my chest. I am proud of the way they turned out and ready to get on Phase 4 and finish up!
I assisted at a wedding this weekend and got to shoot some. It was a great experience and I learned that I have no reason to be nervous about weddings that they are not all that scary. I am ready to shoot my own wedding so if you are getting married or know someone that is let me know! I can' wait to start my business and I can't wait to share in other peoples weddings. Wedding pictures to follow in the next couple weeks.

Phase 3 progress

Phase three is underway and going crazy! I can't believe that I am more than halfway done with phase 3 and in just a little over a month I will be home for Spring break. Things continue to be a challenge while others are going along smoothly. I am ready to see everyone again and ready to start working on my final portfolio. I have some images from my phase 3 final that are somewhat done or very close to it. I hope you enjoy them.

More than a week =(

I am sad that it's been longer than a week. So I find that I am really bad about updating this.

I have been super busy and I am about to take off and be super super busy. I am ready to be back home. I know that I am almost done and just a lot more work then I will be home in Oklahoma. Since my last post I have completed my phase II assignment. I tried to post these pictures to my last blog but wonderful technology it wasn't working I will attempt it again.

What is going on right now? Well we have received our phase 3 assignments. It is a bit overwhelming being completely honest. I know that it is doable but right now it doesn't feel like it is. The main thing that is getting me stressed is trying to find models. That is the biggest problem right now. So if you or anyone you know wants to fly up to the wonderful world of western Massachusetts let me know and I would be willing to give them free lodging at my apartment in return for modeling. HA HA Ha if only right? So that is my biggest struggle right now. I have faith that it will all work out it is just hard to see that right now.
For our Phase III assignment we have several shots of people and several commercial shots. The skills necessary are not difficult. They are all things that we have done before it is the planning and getting the ideas that is the challenge right now.

In addition to the final assignment we have a Career Business Plan. The CBP is an assignment that we have to do states our short and long term goals for our business. We have to talk about how we are going to achieve our goals, how we are going to market, what we will charge, and how we are going to make a living doing photography. It is a great assignment because it makes us think about it being our career. I find that it is having the opposite effect on me than everyone else. It makes me excited to be started and not scared like everyone else is.

Website. We are also required to get a website up and running and will be working on that also when I get time to. Starting to see a pattern? Too much to do and not enough time? But isn't this everyone's problem. Back on the website when I get the time I will send the link to everyone for you all back in central Oklahoma to start spreading the word about the amazing photographer that will be gracing everyone by being there in July!

Tonight I plan on working on promotional materials being my business card and business look. Once I get these done I will post them so everyone can see what L'Amour Photography is going to look like.

I received a full credit on my Phase II final. = ) These are those photos.
Enjoy =)

Oh the first snowfall of the season

We had a snow day today. This is monumental because according to instructors Hallmark hasn't had a snow day in at least 10 years. The only thing I can think of is the new students were supposed to start today. The snow was up to my knees and we had to dig out our cars. I can't describe how much snow there was. I have never seen that much snow. It was different though it was fluffy snow. It wasn't the icy icky snow that I am used to back in Oklahoma. I have a video to come. If you are my friend on Facebook I have posted it there. I will put images up of it here within the next week.

One month today!

One month from today I was doing exactly this, updating my blog. Sorry its been awhile I am sure though everyone can understand how crazy the holiday times can be and how little time there really is.
I was beyond thrilled to get to go home for break. I had missed it so much and was very sad to leave. Leaving was bitter sweet. I hated to leave but I knew that I needed to in order to finish school so that I could be back home for good. I had a lot of fun on my break and have many pictures to show for it.
I don't like making new years resolutions partly cause I am awful at keeping them but if I were to make one, one of them would be more consistent in my blog posts even if it's a paragraph letting you all know that I am still alive. I will try to do that.
Over the break I had about seven assignments to shoot. I won't bore you with the details of them now but rather in the caption of the completed photographs.
This week we were handed our phase II final assignment. This one in my opinion is a baby compared to the phase I one. I only have five images to produce for my final this time. Now they all have to be fully retouched and edited though. I have all the ides for them it's just a matter of finding time.
Well other than that I really don't have much to say I will get on posting all the images from the break.

The next five were images shot while I was trying to get my window light portrait.

This was the one I turned in for the window light assignment.

The next four are images shot while the maiden popping voyage of ©DLR Concessions kettle corn popper was  back home not at training.(Sorry the image of the founder of ©DLR Concessions did not import for some reason so on my next blog I will make sure to post his picture)

The next two are at my aunt Angela's house for New Years Eve
